Details

Now that round 2 of the playoffs is upon us, it’s time for another NLL challenge! This time we wanted to provide something that felt akin to fantasy basketball, but adjusted for the playoffs. Players will fill out a showcase representing their 5 starters (one for each position) +1 ‘bench’ player (or ‘Sixth Man’) for all of round 2. They will then score fantasy points based on their averages per game over the round.

You must use 6 different players in your showcase!

Each player must play a different position, as listed on their Top Shot moment (PG, SG, SF, PF, C), except for your ‘Sixth Man’ who can play any position (and doesn’t have to be a bench player).

Scoring

Remember these will be scored based on their averages across the series. We don’t want to reward a player because his team couldn’t get the job done in 4 games!

  • +1 pt per point per game
  • +0.5 pt per 3-pointers per game
  • +1.25 pt per rebounds per game
  • +1.5 pt per assists per game
  • +2 pt per blocks per game
  • +2 pt per steals per game

Reward

For this challenge we are giving away a total of $1500 in Dapper Balance.

1st: $500

2nd: $400

3rd: $300

4th: $200

5th: $100

6th: $90

7th: $80

8th: $70

9th: $60

10th: $50

11th-30th: $9

Additional Giveaway for 30 random entrants: $9

If you don’t have the time to fill out a showcase but do want a chance at some free Dapper balance, just send an email to nll.challenges@gmail.com titled “Round 2 Free Entry” and you, along with everyone else who signs up for this contest, will be entitled for a chance at one of the 30 random draws of $9 we will also be handing out.

Reminder, you must be a Cool Cat set holder to qualify for prizes.

Tiebreakers: +/- of player, points scored by player’s team, and finally just a random roll

Examples

Good Example

  • Dedmon: Center
  • Haslem: Power Forward
  • Strus: Small Forward
  • Herro: Shooting Guard
  • Vincent: Point Guard
  • Yurtseven: Center, but in this case is filling the 6th man position

(no, everyone doesn’t have to be from the same team)

Bad Example

  • Olynyk: Center — he isn’t on the Heat anymore and isn’t in the playoffs
  • Tucker, Butler, Robinson — they are all Small Forwards, only one can count
  • Lowry: Point Guard — this is fine actually. The moment doesn’t need to match the current team the player is on
  • Martin: another Small Forward, but he is in the 6th man position, so that is fine

(Note: your showcase doesn’t have to follow the order of C-PF-SF-SG-PG-6th, but it does make it easier. When you enter into the form this won’t be a question, but it does make it easier if there are any mistakes on submission).
