Steady Breaks and Nine Lives Lounge Team up for Exclusive NLL-Members-Only Break Nights

• You MUST fill out the Google form in the council-updates channel to have a chance to win a spot by Thursday, May 12 at 9 p.m. EDT. We will then randomly select winners.

***This is to ensure active members get the best chance — plus, we’re allotting spots to newer members, medium term members and OGs, giving new and old members alike a great shot at getting a spot. You have multiple days to enter!

Did you ever break open a hobby box or host a pack ripping party with your friends growing up?

For many of us, NBA Top Shot brings a certain nostalgia when it comes time to ripping open digital packs. It brings people together — what’s the second thing you do after you rip open a sweet pack? (The first thing, at least for me, is screaming to the heavens with exhilaration). The second thing is almost always sharing the story with your friends. Especially with NBA Top Shot and the Nine Lives Lounge, the NLL discord channel is a place where collectors share their wins, lament losses, and ultimately bond over a sport and collectible we all love.

That’s why I’m thrilled to share that we’ve partnered with Steady Breaks to bring an exclusive NLL-members-only series of events coming this month.

Steady Breaks has been working with NBA Top Shot to provide a digital group pack-breaking experience for new collectors. You buy a piece of a pack and then split the spoils with other collectors. They recently announced that they’re doing pack breaks at cost, significantly reducing the price to buy in, plus working with current users as well as new ones.

There are different types of pack breaks with varying formats, but ultimately it comes down to the luck of the draw and actually throwing your hat in the ring.

Here’s what’s happening. The NLL Council has secured two nights — Friday, May 13 at 6 p.m. PST, and another at a later date — to host two pack ripping parties. There will be 50 All-Star standard packs and 10 elite packs (60 total packs!!) ripped on each night, meaning there will be chances for rares and legendaries. We have 61 spots up for grabs. We’ll also have some surprises thrown in to give members who don’t win a spot a chance to get something just for being a viewer.

YOU MUST FILL OUT THE GOOGLE FORM TO BE CONSIDERED. You’ll find this in the council-updates channel of the Nine Lives Lounge discord! We’re doing this so we can gather info on your set completion date, and awarding spots accordingly.

We are going to give away ALL of these 61 spots for free to NLL members, courtesy of the NLL Council monthly budget (each night will cost less than $1.5K). Here’s how we’ll award the spots:

• 15 spots will be awarded to members who joined the NLL after March 1, 2022 (around when the council was formed)
• 15 spots will be awarded to members who joined the NLL between Jan. 1, 2022, and Feb. 28, 2022.
• 31 spots will be awarded to members who joined the NLL before Jan. 1, 2022.

Your set completion date listed on NBA Top Shot will determine your eligibility for each spot. I know some of us have sold out and re-bought back in for challenges, but this is truly the cleanest, easiest way for the council to facilitate this. Either way, everyone will have a shot, but this format allows new members, new-ish members, and OGs to all enjoy these special events together.
